Helping you get to a dryer lifestyle

For Hyperhidrosis

How DryDerm Works

The science behind DryDerm and its active ingredient, aluminum chloride hexahydrate, is straightforward yet effective. When applied, aluminum chloride hexahydrate works by blocking the terminal or pore end of the sweat gland's tubular structure. This action causes a precipitate to form, which settles in the upper part of the sweat gland. As a result, sweat flow to the skin's surface is effectively obstructed, reducing or preventing excessive sweating.

Because skin regenerates approximately every 27 days, and sweat glands are integral to the dermis, topical treatments like DryDerm must be reapplied periodically. This is necessary because new sweat glands develop as the dermal layer undergoes regeneration. Regular reapplication helps maintain the effectiveness of DryDerm in blocking sweat production and managing excessive sweating over time.

How to Use DryDerm

For optimal use of DryDerm, follow these application guidelines:

  1. Application Time: Apply daily at bedtime to dry skin. Avoid applying to humid or wet skin, as this can increase the likelihood of irritation.

  2. Initial Application Period: Apply consistently for the first week to ten days (7 to 10 consecutive nights), or until you begin to see desired results. Some individuals may notice improvements in as little as 3 to 4 nights.

  3. Monitoring Skin Response: Reduce application frequency or discontinue use if you experience skin irritation.

  4. Rinsing Off: To minimize potential irritation and remove excess product, wash off or shampoo the treated area 6-8 hours after each application.

  5. Maintenance Phase: After the initial daily application period, adjust usage as needed. Typically, applying DryDerm once or twice a week is recommended for maintenance.

  6. Application on Dry Skin: For best results and to reduce the risk of irritation, always apply DryDerm to dry skin.

Additional tips for using DryDerm solution include:

  1. Ensuring Dry Skin: If necessary, use a hair dryer on a warm setting for a few minutes to ensure the skin is completely dry before applying DryDerm.

  2. Avoiding Other Products: Do not use other deodorants or antiperspirants while using DryDerm solution to avoid potential interactions or reduced effectiveness.

  1. Skin Condition: Do not apply DryDerm to broken, irritated, or recently shaved skin, as this can increase the risk of discomfort or irritation.

  2. Eye Contact: Avoid contact with the eyes. If DryDerm solution comes into contact with your eyes, rinse them thoroughly with water to prevent irritation.

Following these precautions helps ensure safe and effective use of DryDerm solution for managing hyperhidrosis.

To help manage or avoid skin irritation, apply a corticosteroid cream (such as hydrocortisone 1% or 2% or clobetasone 0.05%) once or twice daily. Do this after washing off DryDerm in the morning and/or one hour before applying DryDerm at night.
